Bristol City coach works with Ellwood Youth

Welcome to Ellwood Youth Football Club, a local community, family orientated football club based in the Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.

Jason Bevan came to the Club in June 2014 and reformed the Youth football club from scratch in June 2015.

Ellwood Youth Football Club prides itself on being a very friendly, family orientated inclusive club providing a good nurturing environment for boys and girls keen to play football.

We welcome kids as young as age 4 up to the ages of 16, of all abilities, and then one day, they might play for one of the Ellwood Mens Team or Womens Team.

Ellwood Youth F.C were awarded the FA Standard Chartered Club Status from the English Football Association in March 2016.

Ellwood Youth teams, were going from strength to strength.Unfortunately due to the Covid  pandemic in March 2020 football was interupted for nearly 2 seasons. Since the return to football the Club and our great coaches, and players are working really hard to get back to where there Club was prior to the pandemic. With new teams started in 2021-2022, already winning a local tournament, and players being scouted.

Ellwood Youth FC have built a relationship with local football giants Bristol City FC Football Academy. They have sent down coaches down to do training sessions with Ellwood Youth teams over the recent years.

The Club has also arranged football trials for some of the Ellwood Youth FC players, at Bristol City Fc, Bristol Rovers, with several players being signed for academies including Forest Green Rovers, Cheltenham Town, West Bromich Albion.

Ellwood Youth also had a great relationship with Seymours football pre academy based in Monmouth the Seymour Brothers are professional  football coaches, who have been running this centre since 1993 unfortunately due to Covid pandemic in 2020 it closed its training facility. In 2020 when Covid hit the country which effected all youth football teams all over the country and including part of 2021 football ground to a halt, our U9s were in semi final with a fanstastic opportunity to reach the final, but unfortunately all football was cancelled.

So we had to write off most of 2020 and 2021 when we retured after the long break off from football unfortunately alot of teams folded.  Since we have returned we have worked tirelsesly with all the children to rebuld the teams and they are all doing really well thanks the dedication of our coaches and the club committeeat Ellwood Youth Fc.

We call this club and the children and there families  our football family. We welcome all newcomers to our football family.
