Ellwood Youth Football Club was formed in 2013 due to a lack of youth football opportunities in the area. Since the formation of the club in 2013 the club has gone from strength to strength. The club allow children to develop not only their football skills but also socially. With the emphasis on children developing as people rather than just their footballing ability. In 2015 the club appointed Gary Sutton as the Head of Youth Football, this was a major coup for the club. Gary is a real asset to have at the club and provides a wealth of experience in coaching, teaching, youth work and fund-raising. Gary Sutton also offer the Ellwood players the opportunity to develop there football by doing School Holiday Football Courses throughout the year a real bonus for the Ellwood Players.

Ellwood Youth Parent Club Ellwood AFC with its rich history, will be celebrating 100 years of football in 2017.  Ellwood Youth  is FA Standard Chartered, and it boasts one of the best football pitches in the Forest of Dean,  and in the whole of Gloucestershire and a lovely modern Club House.  In its rich and proud club history the mens teams have won many titles, and doing what no other Forest Of Dean Club has managed to do by winning the Gloucestershire County League. It also boasts a very good Ladies football team as well.

The First team still plays to very high Standard nowadays, and a couple of season’s ago done a remarkable thing, they won the Triple a league title, and winner of two Cups.  We would like to thank Ellwood A.F.C. who is run by Rob Cole Chairman, Ian Edwards Club Secretary, Maurice Prout Club Treasurer, for letting us form Ellwood Youth Fc, so maybe one day some of the kids we are coaching can maybe play in the mens team one day and produce many more titles for Ellwood A.F.C.
